Lee’s Summit, Missouri, (January 11, 2023) - Hope House, a domestic violence agency in Eastern Jackson County, will celebrate 40 years of service throughout 2023. Since its inception in 1983, Hope House has diligently worked to holistically meet the complex needs of domestic violence survivors. And now, 40 years later, Hope House continues to carry out their mission of breaking the cycle of domestic violence by providing comprehensive services to those experiencing domestic violence.
“To look back at how far we’ve come and know that through the support of our community, and our team’s hard work and dedication, we are still able to continue our work is truly incredible,” says Hope House Chief Executive Office, MaryAnne Metheny.
The agency plans to highlight the 40 year milestone at various events, including their annual gala, believe-illuminating hope, on August 5, 2023. The celebration will culminate in October during Domestic Violence Awareness month, with an art exhibition event.
Hope House remains the sole domestic violence service agency in Eastern Jackson County, and it is committed to the adult and child survivors of violence who are in need of the culturally competent, and trauma informed services Hope House provides.
Together we can build a brighter future.
Domestic violence can happen to anyone, no matter their gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexuality. Hope House advocates for survivors, no matter where they are in their journey. Join us in creating a brighter tomorrow for survivors.
